Eric Burness, DPT

Physical Therapist/Owner

Eric Burness graduated with a Bachelors of Science from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas where he was a four-year starter for the Men’s Basketball team and Dean’s list student. There he developed a passion for injury rehabilitation, prevention and maximizing function as he experienced these issues directly as a collegiate athlete. In 2003, Eric graduated from AT Still University with his Doctor of Physical Therapy.

His Physical Therapy career began in San Diego while also competing in professional beach volleyball. In 2005, after the birth of their first child, he and his wife returned to Arizona. Eric ran the Arizona division of Physical Rehabilitation and Hand Centers for 9 years before purchasing Ahwatukee Physical Therapy in 2012.

Over the years, Eric has become more and more enthusiastic about advancements in the field of rehabilitation. With an emphasis on a multi-faceted approach to patient care; he focuses on the regional interdependence of the musculoskeletal system utilizing the Selective Functional Movement and Functional Movement Screens as the cornerstone of his practice. Patients receive an individualized plan of care focused on their specific deficits. He strongly believes in utilizing manually based treatments along with therapeutic exercise to help his patients achieve their goals. These treatments include techniques such as ASTYM, Dry Needling, cupping, joint mobilization and manipulation. Eric’s goal is to help empower his patients to maximize function and return to an active pain-free lifestyle. Eric is passionate about helping his patients improve by consistently learning new approaches for rehabilitation.

Eric enjoys spending time with his wife, son, two daughters and their 125lb Bouvier named Magnus. In practicing what he preaches, Eric stays active in the gym implementing a variety of exercise tools including kettle-bells and suspension systems into his workout routine. Outside, he enjoys camping, mountain biking, skiing, playing basketball, riding dirt bikes, and beach volleyball. He also stays involved with the community by volunteering at his church and coaching his children’s sports teams.

Becca Dulis

Physical Therapist

Becca Dulis has always known she wanted to be in the medical field and work closely with her patients but really became passionate about physical therapy after taking a high school class in exercise physiology. She loved how physical therapy ties in knowledge about the human boy and applies it to physical activity, sports, and really getting to help her patients get back to the things they love to do. She graduated from ASU in 2016 with a B.S. in Kinesiology and then went on to earn her certification as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach (CSCS). She attended Northern Arizona University and graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2022. She has furthered her education afterwards by completing her certification in Dry Needling through Structure & Function Education which has been a great addition to her tool box and helped in treating her patients.
